Tirunelveli Dakashina Mara Nadar Sangam College ( T.D.M.N.S. College ) was established in the year July 1971. Though the College started in 1971 the under Graduate courses started in 1980.

The college is Founded by Dakshina Mara Nadar Sangam , the non- profit educational agency. The mission of the College is “ To offer quality education at the doorsteps of the rural folk” To activate the uneducated rural mass into first generation learners.

• To provide social Justice to the downtrodden in the society through meaningful education.

• To educate and emancipate the rural women

• To develop the rural young buds into gems of future India.

• To culture the rural youth to lead a life with mission.

The College is also committed with vision “ Empowering the downtrodden who long to have social Justice in rural India through quality education and making them self-reliant and divine citizens of this Land”

The college strives to deliver quality education by providing and improving continuously a conducive environment for teaching and learning. The College offers traditional courses like B.A, B.Sc , B.Com , and post graduate programs M.Sc , M.Com , P.G.D.C.A.

T.D.M.N.S College volunteered to be assessed by National assessment and accreditation council (NAAC) and submitted its self-study the report to the NAAC. To visit the College and validate report, NAAC constituted a peer team which consisted of Dr. Y. saraswathy Rao (chairperson) former Vice Chancellor, Sri Krishandevaraya University, Ananthapur. Andrapradesh, Dr. Prakash D. Patil (Member Co-ordinator) Principal, Camp Education Society’s Dr.Arvind B. Telang Sr. College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Nigdi, Pune. and Dr. Josheph V.G ( Member ) Chairman , Garden city College of Science and Management studies, Banglore. Dr. Jagannath Patil Deputy Adviser, NAAC Co-ordinated the visit of the team.

The T.D.M.N.S. College was established in July 1971 at T. Kallikulum, Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu. The College is located in rural and backward area.. It is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. The College has received UGC recognition under section 2 (f) and 12 ( B ) in 1973. The College campus is spread over 40 acres. The College has both grant - in - aide and self financing courses. This multifaculty College conducts Ten undergraduate and four post graduate degree courses. It also conducts one P.G. Diploma Programme.

The College has sixty one permanent teaching faculty members and Nine Administrative staff Beside this, Management has appointed Eighteen Full time teachers and one part time teacher. Total 1400 students have been admitted in the College. No student is admitted from other states , NRI or overseas area. Being an affiliated college it follows Mononmaniam Sundaranar University examination pattern.

The peer team carefully studied and analyzed the self- study report of the College. During the institutional visit, on 29th & 30th March 2007 the team went though the relevant documents, visited the various departments and all other facilities available in the College.

The peer team interacted with the management, the principal, the faculty, the Non- teaching staff, students, Parents and Alumni.

The report of peer team is based on a thorough analysis of the self-study report, careful perusal of the documents made available and the interaction with the concerned as indicated above.
